Friday, March 8, 2019 is International Women’s Day and Baskids is celebrating this amazing day throughout the month through two campaign series honoring women, both in history and in our community.

Herstory will focus on historic female figures who contributed to literature and made a difference in our community. Without these women who paved the way before us, we would not be able to drive forward the mission of growing a generation of readers. It is important to look to our past for guidance and to understand how far we’ve come.

Hall of Femme is an effort to highlight hidden figures in our own community who are iconic in their daily lives through their efforts to make a difference. These women are our teachers, our social workers our mothers and they are the true heroes.
